Apparently, if you walk into a Land Rover dealership right now looking to purchase a new Range Rover Evoque, you’ll have to wait a very long time to take delivery. At the 2012 New York Auto Show, Land Rover announced that it has sold out all Rang Rover Evoque models for the 2012 calendar year.

Check out our Top 10 things you need to know about the Range Rover Evoque.

A Land Rover spokesperson said that the company would spend the rest of the year filling its backlog of orders for the remainder of the year. New owners who have already ordered the car will be waiting several months before they can take delivery of their new Evoque.

Land Rover currently produces the Range Rover Evoque at its Solihull and Halewood  UK facility. It is bringing in extra staff to accommodate for the heavy demand.

Refresher: The 2012 Range Rover Evoque is powered by a 2.0L Si4 turbo (aka 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged Ford EcoBoost) making 240-hp. Mated to a 6-speed automatic, the 2012 Range Rover Evoque 5-doord goes from 0-60 mph in the 7 second range. Prices for the 2012 Range Rover Evoque 5-door start at $43,995 and $44,995 for the Range Rover Evoque coupe.

I just ordered one and no one said anything about a problem with supply. In fact, I was told they expect my car to arrive in August. When I saw this article called the dealership and my call was the first they had heard of this supply problem. Somewhere there is a breakdown in communication.

I am a spokesperson for Jaguar Land Rover North America and I am pleased to report that this item is a little misleading and I encourage anyone in the United States who wants to buy a Range Rover Evoque to contact their local dealer. While we are having a stellar sales response to the great new vehicle, it is not “sold out”. In some cases for certain models there may be a wait, or you may get lucky and find something in inventory. Its worth a try. Or you can go tohttp://www.landroverusa.com
