Report: Range Rover Evoque sold out for 2012

Apparently, if you walk into a Land Rover dealership right now looking to purchase a new Range Rover Evoque, you’ll have to wait a very long time to take delivery. At the 2012 New York Auto Show, Land Rover announced that it has sold out all Rang Rover Evoque models for the 2012 calendar year.

A Land Rover spokesperson said that the company would spend the rest of the year filling its backlog of orders for the remainder of the year. New owners who have already ordered the car will be waiting several months before they can take delivery of their new Evoque.

Land Rover currently produces the Range Rover Evoque at its Solihull and Halewood  UK facility. It is bringing in extra staff to accommodate for the heavy demand.

Refresher: The 2012 Range Rover Evoque is powered by a 2.0L Si4 turbo (aka 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged Ford EcoBoost) making 240-hp. Mated to a 6-speed automatic, the 2012 Range Rover Evoque 5-doord goes from 0-60 mph in the 7 second range. Prices for the 2012 Range Rover Evoque 5-door start at $43,995 and $44,995 for the Range Rover Evoque coupe.
