Chinese version of Dodge Dart to be called Fiat Viaggio, teasers released

The new 2013 Dodge Dart will be making its Fiat version debut at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show later this month and will go on sale in China in the third-quarter of 2012 as the Fiat Viaggio (meaning voyage). The Fiat Viaggio, which was teased today, is the first Fiat-Chrysler twin project that will be offered in China’s compact sedan segment.

The Fiat Viaggio will be offer a 1.4 liter T-jet engine making 120-hp and another making 150-hp. Both choices will be mated to a 5-speed manual or a Dual Dry Clutch Transmission (DDTC) automatic.

Production of the model will be held at the new GAC-Fiat World Class Manufacturing plant in Changsha, Hunan province. The first cars will be produced starting July.

Refresher: Power for the 2013 Dodge Dart comes from a 2.0 liter Tigershark engine, a 16-valve 160-hp MultiAir turbo unit and a new 16-valve 2.4 liter Tigershark MultAir 4-cylinder making 184-hp. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speedĀ dual dry clutch (DDCT) automatic.
