Report: Audi to announce acquisition of Ducati next week
In 2005, Audi made an attempt to acquire Ducati from former owner Texas Pacific Group, but lost the bid to Investindustrial. Not giving up in its efforts, Audi recently sat down and had talks with Investindustrial to purchase Ducati.
Two people familiar with the talks said that Audi plans to announce the acquisition of Ducati next week. The company is waiting on completing a due diligence assessment of the motorcycle maker.
The sources said that Audi didn’t come across any major stumbling blocks when checking Ducati’s books and that Investindustrial agreed to talk with Audi exclusively.
