2012 New York: 2013 BMW X1 gets RWD model exclusively in the United States

We waited a very long time for the BMW X1 to come to the United States. The model was supposed to make its way to the stateside last year but high demand in Europe caused a huge supply constraint. To make up for the delay, BMW is offering the X1 in rear-wheel-drive exclusively for the U.S. market.

The 2013 BMW X1 sDrive28i will be the only rear-wheel-drive model offered and will be powered 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder making 240-hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.

If you really love your all-wheel-drive capability you can go for the X1 xDrive28i or the X1 xDrive35i. The X1 xDrive35i is powered by a 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder TwinPower Turbo making 300-hp.

Prices start at $31,545 for the 2013 BMW X1 sDrive28i and $39,345 for the X1 xDrive35i. Sales start this fall.
