2013 Buick Enclave gets redesigned exterior, better quality interior and IntelliLink
One of the debuts that I am really looking forward to at the 2012 New York Auto Show was the revamped 2013 Buick Enclave. The successful Buick 7-passenger crossover has just made its 2013 model year web debut with all the details and images and we’re liking what we see.
Check out more news on the Buick Enclave.
“The 2013 Enclave advances the award-winning design, craftsmanship and technology that reintroduced Buick to a new generation of customers,” said Tony DiSalle, U.S. vice president of Buick Marketing. “We evolved the interior and exterior design, increased luxury amenities and materials, and engineered purposeful technologies that will make the Enclave continue to resonate with luxury crossover owners.”
It does seem like GM was very careful not to lose the essence of the successful Enclave but went through a couple of issues of the crossover with a fine tooth comb. First, the exterior has been upgraded and slightly redesigned to keep the model fresh and looking uniform with the rest of the Buick lineup. There are things like standard HID lamps, which are enhanced with LED accent lights; adaptive headlamps, a more rounded front fascia; 18-inch aluminum wheels (19 and 20-inches available); and more.
Next, the interior was totally upgraded with better quality and soft touch materials. The interior also gets a new ‘center stack’ with standard IntelliLink LCD display, tri-zone climate system, capacitive touch controls and available navigation system. Oh, and there is a genuine mahogany-accented steering wheel! IntelliLink is standard with all Enclaves and offers buyers Pandora internet radio and Stitcher SmartRadio access using hands-free voice and touch-screen controls via Bluetooth-enabled smartphones.
The 2013 Buick Enclave is still offered with front or all-wheel-drive and power still comes from a 3.6 liter V6 engine making 288-hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic and returns an EPA estimated 17/24 mpg (city/highway) for the FWD model and 16/22 for the AWD model.
