2013 BMW X1 price to start at $31,545, rear-wheel-drive model available

An embargo break earlier today has allowed us to post the official details on the new 2013 BMW X1, which will be making its North American debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show later this week.

For the 2013 model year, the X1 also gets a slight redesign with a more muscular stance and the interior also gets some design surface upgrades.

Check out more news on the BMW X1.

The smallest X model will hit U.S. showrooms later this fall with prices starting at $31,545 (including $895 Destination and Handling) for the base X1 sDrive28i. The BMW X1 xDrive28i will start at $33,245, while the X1 xDrive35i will start at $39,345.

sDrive28i? That’s right – the 2013 BMW X1 sDrive28i will be exclusively offered in the United States with rear-wheel-drive. The X1 sDrive28i and the X1 xDrive28i are both powered by a 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder making 240-hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The 2013 BMW X1 xDrive35i is powered by a 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder TwinPower Turbo making 300-hp.

Sounds like a pretty interesting lineup.
