Video: Sergio Marchionne tells 60 minutes other CEOs wouldn’t have touched Chrysler with a 10-foot pole
One of the most striking stories of an automotive turnaround has to be Chrysler Group LLC’s resurrection from death by new CEO Sergio Marchionne. Speaking to CBS’ 60 Minutes, Marchionne said that Chrysler was a long shot that other CEOs wouldn’t ‘have touched with a 10-foot pole.’
Speaking to 60 Minutes’ host Steve Kroft, Marchionne said that there was a lot of fear in the faces of Chrysler workers when he come in 2009 but the fear has since disappeared.
“It’s been a long, rocky road, but the fear has gone,” he said. “I think the world of American workers. “What happened here at Chrysler would have been impossible without the commitment that they’ve shown, absolutely impossible.”
