Video: Ferrari SP12 for Eric Clapton caught on camera

The other day we brought you the first pics of what has become known as the one-off Ferrari SP12 for none other than Eric Clapton. What we know so far is that Clapton called up Ferrari and asked them to build him a one-off special-edition based on the Ferrari 458 Italia.

A video has now popped up on YouTube showing the Ferrari SP12 hanging out at the HR Owen showroom in London.

According to YouTube user Shmee150:

“This is the new Ferrari SP12, a Special Project creation built for Eric Clapton for a cost of £3m over a period of 2 years. The car is based on the framework and engine of the Ferrari 458 Italia but features numerous design changes to tweak it back to an appearance of Ferraris of old including the 512 Boxer and the headlights from the Enzo. The car had originally planned to be a 12-cylinder version but clearly this was too much to ask and as such it seems to run the V8 and controls of the normal car.”

We’re starting to wonder how many one-off models Ferrari and other supercar manufacturers built that we never get to see.

Check out the vieo after the jump.
