Report: Orange triangle law for buggies upsets the Amish

Amish Buggy SignWhile some Amish know how to have some fun in their buggies, other Amish are fighting against laws that actually make their buggies safer to drive. What do we mean by that?

A group of Amish are asking the Kentucky Supreme Court to vacate the convictions of nine men ticket under a law that requires their buggy to have a orange triangle affixed to the back.

The men, which are being represented by the American Civil Liberties Union, say that the issue is a matter of religious freedom.

One Amish man was held in county jail for 13 days after refusing to pay a fine for being ticketed under the law.

Why are the Amish so pissed about the bright orange triangle? Apparently, the color is too bright, and the shape supposedly represents the holy trinity.
