Speaking with Lamborghini designer Filippo Perini, the guys over at Top Gear found out that the new Aventador J was built in just 6 weeks.

Check out our post on the Lamborghini Aventador J from the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

While it is believed that the Aventador J was commissioned by one wealthy customer, the real story says that Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann asked the team to come up with ‘something special’ for the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

“It was the 14th of January that Mr Winkelmann asked us to do something for Geneva,” says Perini. “A blank sheet. Do what you want. I drew up this car in a weekend…”

Don’t forget that the Lamborghini Aventador J is not a concept – it is a fully working road-legal model.

Nonetheless, even more the Aventador J was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, on anonymous rich Lambo customer called dibs on the model.

“Mr Winkelmann knows our best customers personally,” says Perini. “One of the first ones we presented the project to was interested. In a minute he had sent the money” – all $2.8 million of it.
