2012 Geneva: Volkswagen CEO checks out, analyses the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

It’s not an unusual sight to see CEOs of some of the world’s most popular automakers walking around the auto show floor on press days. However, it’s interesting when you see a CEO of one automaker walk over to the stand of another automaker and closely examine their vehicles.

Check out our post on the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta from the 2012 Geneva Motor Show here.

We caught Volkswagen Group Chairman and CEO Martin Winterkorn hanging out at Ferrari’s display at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show checking out the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. But Winterkorn’s ‘checking out’ includes a lot of touching and analyzing. At one point, Winterkorn dragged his finger across the whole silhouette of the F12 Berlinetta and than proceeded to look under the hood of the car.

Obviously, we have no clue what he was thinking but our best guess is that he was taking a close look at Lamborghini’s (which is owned by Volkswagen Group) closest competitor.
