2012 Geneva: Lotus Exige S Roadster lowers its top in Switzerland

Lotus has released its first soft-top Exige model at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, the Exige S Roadster.

The luxury automaker says the model won’t be hitting U.S. soil and that it was crafted for sale mostly in Europe and Asia. That stinks.

Power for the 2,400 lb Roadster comes from a 3.5-liter V6, giving it a 0-60mph time of 3.8 seconds, and a 145mph top speed. The two-seater’s V6 can be coupled with either a paddle-operated Serial Precision Shift automated manual transmission, or a six-speed manual gearbox.

A Race Pack is available for the Exige S Roadster that adds performance suspension settings geared towards the racetrack and a launch control system. Also available is a minimalist cockpit.
