2012 Geneva: Touring Superleggera unveils 2012 Disco Volante Concept

Touring Superleggera celebrated the 60th anniversary of the 1952 Alfa Romeo C 53 Disco Volante today at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. While the 2012 Disco Volante Concept you see here is based on the space-frame chassis of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, it is only a static model. But worry not because if you own a 8C Competizione, Touring Superleggera will gladly take your car and money and convert it into this sport grand tourer.

“The design conveys the spirit of the streamlining, sporty and essential shape of the 1952 ancestor, adding elements of drama, such as the unusual front width and the powerful rear wings, to the typical Touring paradigm of timeless design,” Touring Superleggera said in a statement.

So you’ll get the good looks of the 2012 Disco Volante and a strong 444-hp 4.7 liter V8 from the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. I think it’s a pretty good decision.
