Infiniti has been talking about producing an range-extended electric sports car for some time and today we finally get to see the first pictures of the new model. Images of the new Infiniti EMERG-E Concept have now been released prior to the car’s official debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

Check out more news on the Infiniti EMERG-E.

From what we can see, the Infiniti EMERG-E will be one sexy looking plug-in hybrid sports car. The model will be Infiniti’s first venture into a dedicated sports car model for the brand and will enter production – we just don’t know when. What we do know is that the Infiniti EMERG-E will be a lightweight sports car and will  have a mid-ship package for optimal weight distribution and crisp handling.

More details to come from the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next week. Stay tuned.
