Last week Italy’s Faralli & Mazzanti teased their new supercar, which is said to be born from the project ‘Mugello.’ The production model, known as the F&M Evantra, will begin production next year with deliveries to start in mid 2012.

“The lightweight steel chassis, the low center of gravity, the low kerb weight and the performance of the engine – available as naturally aspirated or biturbo – all add up to the spectacular dinamism of the F&M Evantra besides the balance of the car makes it absolutely at home on any racetrack or on a remote mountain road,” F&M  said in a statement.

The company says that the bodywork is produced in two different steps with the first known as PRO-BODY, which is made up of composite materials and is available at any time. The other version is called ONE-BODY, which is entirely hand-crafted, all-aluminum and customer built for the client.

Power comes from a 3.5 liter 6-cylinder naturally aspirated engine making 403-hp with a twin-turbo unit available making 603-hp. 0 to 62 mph comes in just 3.7 seconds.

Did we mention that only 5 units of the F&M Evantra will be produced on an annual basis.

To me its much better looking than a lot that’s trying targeting that market.
Better would be to sell or license the design to GM for the C7 Corvette, but that would make Corvette mid-engine and would be too sacrosanct to ever happen (if this attitude were applied to the US military, they would be using smooth bore muskets from the pre-war of independence era and not the amazing AR-15′s of recent conflict).
