Video: Chevrolet COPO Camaro Concept heads to the track for testing

Since 1955, NHRA Stock Eliminator has been the straight-line proving ground for the wildest high-performance cars ever to come out of Detroit, Michigan. But no brand has held a dominant position in the drag races than Chevrolet and the Central Office Production Order (COPO) 1969 427 Camaros.

GM has decided to resurrect the COPO Camaro with a concept debut at the 2011 SEMA Show last month. After several months of strategy and development, the newly formed Chevrolet Performance team is is now testing the COPO Camaro and the company says that the model could potentially be the quickest Camaro ever built by Chevrolet.
