Report: Subaru expects U.S. sales to hit 300,000 next year

Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd., the maker of Subaru says that it forecasts an increase in sales in the United States in 2012.

“Sales next year will definitely top this year’s and reach about 300,000 units,” President Yasuyuki Yoshinaga told Automotive News in an interview at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. “Sales in the U.S. may beat last year’s as early as this year.”

Through October, Subaru sold a total of 215,631 units in the United States, down a bit from the same period in 2010.
