Chrysler and Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne confirmed last month that the company plans on offering a diesel version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee in the United States come 2013. Of course, that excited all the diesel enthusiasts here but that excitement will now be short lived.

Jeep brand CEO Mike Manley told CARandDRIVER that besides the Grand Cherokee, no other U.S market model will be available with a diesel powertrain for the foreseeable future.

He also said that the Grand Cherokee will also be the only model to get the high-performance SRT model.
