After making its world debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September, the 2012 Ford Focus ST is making its stateside debut today at the 2011 LA Auto Show.

Power for the 2012 Focus ST 5-door hatch will come from FoMoCo’s 2.0 liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder turbo making 247 horsepower with a peak torque of 265 lb-ft. Mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, the Focus ST runs from 0 to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.

The Ford Focus ST will be available in 40 markets across the world and will go on sale in the United States in early 2012. Prices and features will be announced closer to launch date.

    I’ll wait until whatever is found in the first year and causes a recall to be fixed then I’ll get one. This has more hp (but much less torque) than my Crown Vic with the same V8 from a Mustang GT (up until ’04).
