2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe to get 271-hp 4-banger, 345-hp V6

Last week, Hyundai caved into all the leaks on the new Genesis Coupe and released the first official images of the car before the scheduled debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. Willing to give out more information Hyundai confirmed some technical specs for the new 4 and 6-cylinder powertrains at a small event in Korea last week.

The base 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder will now produce 271-hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. That’s a significant increase from the current base model’s 210-hp and 223 lb-ft torque.

The new 3.8 liter V6 has received a huge shot of steroids and now produces 345-hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. That’s an increase of 39-hp and 29 lb-ft of torque over the outgoing V6.

Both models are now available with an optional 8-speed automatic transmission from the Genesis sedan.
