Hyundai Elantra Coupe confirmed to debut at 2012 Chicago Auto Show

Hyundai has confirmed that they plan on unveiling a coupe version of their latest Elantra next February at the Chicago auto show.

This news comes after Hyundai Motor America’s CEO, John Krafcik, held a small press conference in Ann Arbor, MI showing a number reporters their competitor to the proverbial Honda Civic. However, photography was not allowed.

The Elantra coupe is the next addition to the Elantra lineup, which currently consists of the usual sedan and later, a small wagon version.

“This car has been great for us,” Krafcik said. “It has really surpassed our expectations.”

Full details on the Elantra coupehave yet to be released, though Krafcik said at the press event that we could expect similar designs to the layout of the sedan.
