As a result of much musing, Opel’s CEO, Karl-Friedrich Stracke revealed an alternatively-fueled flagship sedan may be in the works: “We need a car above the Insignia and we are working [on it].” This car might be thrown on the GM Epsillon II platform (think Chevy Malibu or Saab 9-5).

On the less likely front, he also discussed the possibility of a Manta sucessor or an Opel GT. The successor would have an updated design.

Stracke also discussed the possibility of the Opel GT revival. So far the latter two less likely to be destined for production.
