Why doesn’t this sort of thing happen here in the ‘States? Tattoo artist Scott Campbell collaborated with Pirelli and brought us this: a tattoo design as a tire tread.

Having never cut tire treads before, Campbell designed and then researched the best way to personalize a Diablo Rosso II tire on a special edition Ducati Diavel. The bike and of course the tire are on display at Pirelli’s new flagship store in Milan, Italy.

The design itself is also on a jacket placed near a picture of St. Christopher, allegedly the patron saint of motorcyclists.

Pictures speak louder than words, both the photos and video suggest Campbell did his homework.
