Main man passes 1 million miles in his Accord, Honda throws a parade
Joe LoCicero drives in three months, the 14,000 miles it typically takes a year for the average person to travel. After 300,000 miles, he began to maintain records on the car and taking snapshots of his odometer. As he neared the million mile mark, he gathered a following on www.millionmilejoe.com.
Supporting Honda’s longstanding reputation for reliability, Joe LoCicero’s 1990 Honda Accord has now seen one million miles on its odometer.
“Joe’s journey is a testament to his Honda’s reliability and how people have come to count on Honda for more than 50 years to get them to where they need to go,” said Tom Peyton, Honda brand manager for American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
During a press conference where LoCicero was to be presented with an exaggerated 2012 Honda Accord key by Ashley Marble, or Ms. Maine, a surprise parade broke out for his accomplishment. The parade featured banners, floats crafted by Westbrook High School students, costumes, and both Westbrook High and Saco Middle School marching bands.
