Meet Mazda’s latest concept that will debut at the 42nd 2011 Tokyo Motor Show on Dec. 3. Known as the Mazda Takeri Concept, the study hints at a next-generation midsize sedan, which in our heads, essentially equates to the next generation Mazda6.

The new Takeri concept embodies Mazda’s new design language known as ‘Kodo’ (Soul of Motion).

“The Takeri features the full array of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, including the efficient and powerful new SKYACTIV-D clean diesel engine, to deliver vigorous performance and a comfortable ride desired in a sedan,” Mazda said in a statement. “The combination of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and electric devices – such as Mazda’s idling stop system, i-stop, and a new regenerative braking system – enable the Mazda Takeri to achieve excellent fuel economy.”

Along with the Takeri, Mazda will also show the new CX-5 crossover, new technologies and other production models.

What are your thoughts on the new Mazda Takeri Concept aka the new Mazda6?

WOW–I love it. Great improvment over my 2010 Mazda 6 i Touring, which is a great car too. Glad to know Mazda will bring us a Diesel Sky Active model. Just drove a 2012 Mazda 3 i Touring sedan and it was sweet. The 6 will be a “cut above” that 6. Toyota and Honda don’t have much over the “little guy”  Mazda.  Go Mazda!
