The Toyota Prii family will be growing later this year with the Toyota Prius V and the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid. Following those two models the Prii family will be joined by the compact Toyota Prius C, due in spring 2012. But thanks to the way the Internet works a leaked brochure of the Toyota Prius C has allegedly been leaked.

A leaked Japanese market brochure shows that the Toyota Prius C will be available in three trim levels including G, S and L. The Prius C will measure 157.3 inches long, 66.7 inches wide and 56.9 inches tall.

The brochure goes on to state that the Prius C will be powered by a 1.4 liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine making 74-hp at 4,800 rpm with a maximum torque of 81.9 lb-ft at 4,800 rpm. The electric-motor will make 61-hp and 125 lb-ft with a CVT. Together, the hybrid system will produce a combine output of 100-hp.

Fuel-economy on the Japanese JC08 driving cycle will come in at 35.4 km/lt (or 83.3 mpg US). Of course, in U.S. terms that will be somewhere close to 50 mpg.

Here is more on Toyota Prius : The 2012 Civic Hybrid is the 2012 Toyota Prius’ closest competitor in
terms of pricing and fuel efficiency, but what about the newly refreshed
2012 Honda Insight? As the price of a base Toyota Prius has risen, the
value argument for the Honda Insight is stronger today than when the
    second-generation Honda hybrid debuted.

A smaller price point will help, as the Prius is on the expensive side for and economy car; I believe this to be a JDM vehicle because of the styling and general shape.
