The Mercedes-Benz 2012 S-Class, among other models, are being recalled by the luxury brand for a defective diesel fuel filter.
As per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the diesel filter may cause fire for 6,872 vehicles, which also include the 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, R-Class, and ML-Class. U.S. dealers are no longer selling the vehicles mentioned until all have been repaired, as well.
“Field cases in Europe containing customer complaints about diesel fuel leaking from the fuel filter” as per Mercedes-Benz, are what brought the automaker’s attention to the problem.
For owners, the recall should start in November, and the part can be inspected and/or replaced at the brand’s dealers.
