It has recently been confirmed that “a new industry-leading small V-6 will be added” as part of a $400 million investment the UAW released in regards to American assembly and production of the Ford Transit.

While no details have been provided about the engine, it has been noted that it coincidences with the direction the brand is currently moving in, particularly with Lincoln looking to enhance its technology and luxury merit.

The engine will likely come fitted with an EcoBoost turbo and direct injection, with displacement at somewhere between 2.5 and 3.0 liters. This would put power output at around 300-hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.
