Ferrari 599 GTO

Just the other day we learned more details on the new Ferrari Enzo, courtesy of Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa. In an interview with CARandDRIVER, Felisa also confirmed more details on the replacement for the Ferrari 599 GT Fiorano.

Scheduled to arrive in 2012, the replacement for the Ferrari 599 GTB will keep its front-engine layout and will be constructed from aluminum alloys. When asked if the next 599 GTB will have 700-hp to match the new Lamborghini Aventador, Felisa said: “We are selling cars, not horsepower. We’ll have more than 700 horsepower… but it’s not because of the Aventador.”

The Ferrari 599 GTO is powered by a 6.0L V12 engine making 661-hp with a maximum torque of 457 lb-ft, which gives it the ability to go form 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 208 mph.

We can only imagine what the replacement will be like.
