The redesigned 2013 BMW 3-Series will be unveiled next week, with U.S. sales to start in the first quarter of 2012. The 2013 3-Series will make its first public appearance at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January.

The first two models to debut will be the 328i sedan and 335i sedan. The 2013 BMW 328i will now be powered by the 2.0 liter 4-cylinder single twin-scroll turbocharger making 240-hp at 5,000 rpm and 260 lb-ft of torque between 1,250 and 4,800 lb-ft. It will be mated to an 8-speed automatic Sport and Manual shift modes and Adaptive Transmission.

The 2013 BMW 3-Series sedan will be followed by a station wagon model 8 months later. The wagon will be followed by the new 3-Series Coupe and Convertible two years later.

There have been reports that BMW is working on a 3-Series five-door hatch similar to the 5-Series Gran Turismo. As of yet, nothing has been officially confirmed on that model variant.

The end of the straight six…better stock up and get an E46 for old times sake!

I agree with you Jacob. At least they should preserve the straight six engine in limited edition runs of the 3 series. They can`t just kill that gem of an engine  :-(
