BMW’s 2012 3 Series may be getting an additional variant soon after its release with ActiveHybrid technology.

The latest rumor is that the ActiveHybrid will be in all of the 3 Series with the exception of the inline six 335i, including its four-cylinder with forced-induction.

An extra 15 horsepower comes with the motor, and it would most likely run off of the 120-volt lithium-ion battery the 7 Series uses.

BMW recently unveiled the 2012 ActiveHybrid 5.
