Hyundai chooses Veloster, Azera to lead brand with new developments in design

Automobile manufacturers often have a model representing styles that transcends into other models to further represent the design language of a particular brand. For instance, the BMW 7-Series, which was inspired by the CS Concept, was the first car to feature a new design that is being echoed in the new 5-Series and 3-Series. For Hyundai, there are two cars that are being pinned as the epitome of Hyundai’s design language: the Veloster and the Azera.

Hyundais of the past haven’t exactly been the best lookers. But ever since the Genesis and the current Sonata were released, Hyundai has broken their chain of anonymous styling and replaced it with drop dead gorgeous examples. And to keep that momentum of unique styling, the Hyundai Motor Co. have elected to focus on the Veloster and Azera to continue to be fully representative of Hyundai’s design language.

“The decision to craft a strategy around distinctive design still as the legs to further boost market share well beyond next year. We have demand in excess of our ability to supply, for almost all of our models right now,” said John Krafcik, CEO of Hyundai. “With the Veloster and especially with the Azera, you’re really going to see this focus on design pay off.”

Thus far, Hyundai has proved that they can make a very good automobile that also looks as good as it drives. I can’t wait to see what the brand has to offer in the future.
