Ford teams up with LEGOLAND Florida to build life size Lego Explorer (w/ Video)

I don’t know about you folks, but I have always been a fan of Legos. In fact, I still purchase sets from time to time. So this little bit of news will definitely get both Ford and Lego fans excited.

LEGOLAND of Florida has teamed up with Ford to create an Explore made almost entirely of Legos. Created using 380,000 Lego bricks, the Explorer weighs 2,654 lbs and is supported by a 768 lbs aluminum base on the inside.

“Ford is excited to support the alliance between LEGOLAND Florida and the Southeast Ford dealers. The LEGOLAND Florida Explorer and the Ford Driving School attraction are great opportunities to showcase our products and safety messages to families and visitors in a unique way,” said Tracy Magee, Ford Experiential Marketing manager.

The Lego Explorer debuted at the Explorer’s main plant in Chicago where it was then loaded on a truck with transparent sides and driven to LEGOLAND in Orlando, Florida.
