After a leak of its patent images earlier today, the 2012 Honda CR-V Concept made its public debut at the Orange County International Auto Show in Anaheim, Calif., introducing the styling direction for the fourth-generation CR-V.

The production 2012 CR-V is set to go on sale in the United States by the end of 2011 and will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

“The 2012 CR-V Concept strongly hints at the more dynamic and refined look of the upcoming model,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales for American Honda. “As the best-selling SUV in each of the past four years, the 2012 CR-V promises to build on its highly successful formula with even more style, innovative features and higher fuel economy.”

Honda says that the 2012 CR-V will improve on the current model in a bunch of ways and will also feature a more fuel-efficieny engine along with reduced body weight. Along with the new exterior styling, the 2012 Honda CR-V will have an all-new interior with a more accommodating and spacious design.

Stay tuned for more details.

Well there’s another CR recommendation lost. This thing is huge now. I remember the tall wagons from the early part of the decade–they’re everywhere too.

This design by Honda will sure set the tone of love it or leave it for  the Honda CRV/small suv shopper. There is no attention grabber here to lure a second long at the CRV.
My bet given Honda’s down turn in the market this will do nothing to reverse it.
The only ones whom are on the dark on this is Honda. Honda has become so detached from their customer needs and wants that they so remind me of what got the US manufactures in big trouble.
There isn’t a line that Honda has no done some serious marketing damage to.
