4-cylinder 2012 BMW 528i price starts at $46,700

BMW has just announced pricing on the 2012 BMW 528i and the 2012 BMW 528i xDrive, which is now powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder. Prices start at $46,700 for the 2012 528i and $49,000 for the 2012 528i xDrive.

Power for the 2012 BMW 528i comes from a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder single twin-scroll turbocharger making 240-hp at 5,000 rpm and 260 lb-ft of torque between 1,250 and 4,800 lb-ft. Mated to an 8-speed automatic Sport and Manual shift modes and Adaptive Transmission, the BMW 528i averages 22/32 mpg (city/highway).

The new 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbo offers more power and torque than the normally aspirated 3.0-liter inline-6 featured in the 2011 BMW 528i.

The 2012 BMW 528i also comes with EfficientDynamics technologies like Brake Energy Regeneration and Engine Auto Start/Stop. The driver can also activate an ECO PRO mode, which adjusts the engine map, heating, air conditioning, and mirror/seat heating to minimize fuel consumption. The resulting increase in range is shown on a display.
