2011 Frankfurt: Eterniti Hemera is not a modified Porsche Cayenne, even though it looks like one

Eterniti Motors, the new luxury brand from UK that has been teasing what it calls the world’s first ‘Super-SUV,’ has finally taken covers off of its first model – the Hemera.

Showing up in concept form, the Eterniti Hemera may look just like modified Porsche Cayenne but it’s not – well sort of. Eterniti says that the Hemera is based on VW Group’s latest-generation large SUV platform (same as the Cayenne) but will undergo a complete chassis-up rebuild, including a new, re-packaged interior, and the lightweight carbon-composite re-skin. The interior will be 100 percent unique to Eterniti and will be revealed later this year.

“The Eterniti Hemera will be the first product in a space which Bentley, Maserati and Aston Martin, with the Lagonda brand, have identified for future product,” the company said in a statement.

Power for the Eterniti Hemera comes from a 4.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing over 620-hp for a top speed in excess of 180mph.

Production of the Eterniti Hemera is scheduled to start in early 2012 with deliveries to start later that summer. Prices have not been finalized, but Eterniti says it buyers can expect to pay around £150,000 for the base model. Buyers will also receive a full, three-year warranty and will have access to finance and insurance depending on the market.
