Audi wants to sell 1.6 million cars as early as next year

Audi has some pretty huge goals and dreams. Officially, Audi’s CEO Rupert Stadler has clearly said that the company aims to sell 2 million units annually by 2020 and that the automaker aims to hit 1.5 million sales by 2014.

A new report by Automotive News Europe suggest that Audi now wants to sell 1.6 million cars in 2012 and 1.7 million in 2013. Audi’s purchasing boss Ulf Berkenhagen has informed the company’s 200 most important suppliers

Audi declined to comment.

Audi’s U.S. sales jumped 11 percent to 10,201 vehicles in August 2011. That’s quite a bit behind the luxury leader for that month, BMW, whose sales rose 6.5 percent in August to 20,815.
