Mercedes-Benz restorers pick up 240D in Alaska, drive to California
Any car enthusiast knows that old Mercedes-Benzes were built to last for all of eternity. And to further prove the point that the Three-Pointed Star’s old products are worthy of their reputation, a man who specializes in the restoration of old Benzes has documented one of his projects.
JG Francis is the man on the spot who knows nearly everything old-Mercedes-Benz and owns the aforementioned shop, which is located in Los Angeles, California. Sometimes, Francis would travel afar with his partner Sean to find examples that are worthy of restoration.
In their latest attempt, the two men traveled all the way up to Fairbanks, Alaska to pick up a 1976 240D sedan. After 10 days and 4,000 miles, they drove the 240D from Alaska to their shop in California without one issue.
