Nissan’s GT-R is very much a performance icon in the automotive industry. And to further emphasize that, Nissan has just unveiled its latest motorsport rendition of its flagship: the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT-3.
The car was designed conjunctively by Nissan’s Nismo racing division and JR Motorsports Team to compete in the Blancpain Endurance series. The idea of the car is to resemble the original GT-R while being a purpose built racer. So essentially, it is a touring racecar.
The Nismo GT-R GT-3 participated in the qualification for the Blancpain this past weekend and had successfully ran 98 laps around the 4.41 km Magny-Cours closed road circuit in France for three hours and 440kms. The final position for the Nismo was eighth overall and sixth in class.
