Lamborghini unveils lineup of handbags made of raw carbon fiber cloth

Carbon fiber is slowly becoming one of the materials of choice when building automobiles, especially high-end performance cars where weight reduction and torsional rigidity is of most importance. But if you want to be decked out in carbon fiber without having to sell body parts for a car made of one, now you can purchase some handbags from Lamborghini that are made of a raw carbon fiber cloth.

Lamborghini has released three different style bags: Travel-, Messenger-, and Envelop-style bags. All of them feature the raw carbon fiber clotch with hand-stitched high-quality leather, palladium-finished galvanized brass accessories, cotton lining and hand-mounted studs.

“The objects around us change, just as the way we carry them changes. This line of bags explores an absolutely unprecedented use of carbon fiber, taking the thrust of technological innovation that characterizes our supercars, to the world of fashion,” said Lamborghini’s president and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann. “These are exclusive objects for those who are not content with practicality, but instead seek a way to stand out from the crowd and stamp their own personality on an accessory.”

Prices for the new apparel ranges from as little as $1,200 to as high as $2,100.
