Hajek Motorsports breaks two land speed records in Ford F250 Super Duty
Hajek Motorsports and Ford have just broken two land speed records, both being for diesel and biodiesel trucks, using a Ford F250 Super Duty.
The reworked F250 uses Ford’s 6.7L Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 and was clocked in at 171.123 mph, setting the new B Production Diesel Truck land speed record. The second record was for 182 mph using B20 biodiesel, breaking the previous record of 130.614 mph.
“Racing is part of Ford Motor Company’s DNA so it’s only natural for us to build a race vehicle that demonstrates Ford’s leadership in the diesel and biodiesel truck market,” said Brent Hajek, owner of Hajek Motorsports. “The F-250 is an excellent truck with amazing capabilities. I’m amazed at how, with very few changes from stock, we were able to accomplish this.”
The 6.7L Power Stroke V8 produces 400hp and an Earth-stopping 800 lb-ft of torque and is capable of running on a mixture of biodiesel.
