Michele Bachman is looking for a presidential election with big promises of a drop in gas prices.
At a Greenville, S.C. event, she says “The day that the president became president gasoline was $1.79 a gallon. Look at what it is today. Under President Bachmann, you will see gasoline come down below $2.00 again. That will happen.”
Presently, AAA puts the average cost of a gallon of gas at $3.58 per gallon. With prices relating to global economics, no real details of how the very big picture of gas prices will be approached, apart from some ideas that were quickly touched upon. One that was mentioned involved oil shale development and placing a greater emphasis on domestic drilling.
