BMW ConnectedDrive gives you real-time traffic info on your desktop

After BMW announced earlier this week that they’ll be introducing a new mobile app for their car owners, the Bavarian make has just unveiled a new software program that will provide real-time traffic for BMW owners on their computer desktop at home.

BMW owners who are subscribed to BMW Assist and BMW’s Online features are being offered BMW ConnectedDrive, which accesses the latest traffic reports through the internet using Real-Time Traffic Information or RTTI.

The RTTI system provides real-time information to help drivers plan their travel routes, avoid congested areas and unfavorable conditions before setting off. The RTTI uses local traffic and weather data and even information transmitted from other cars to give the most accurate and up-to-date traffic information.
