Mercedes-Benz CLC Shooting Brake confirmed for production

Mercedes-Benz has just given the green light to the latest effort, which is in the form of a “Shooting Brake” model. According to Benz’s boss Dieter Zetsche, the so called CLC is expected to hit North American showrooms in 2014, to accompany the incoming CLS Shooting Brake, which comes out in 2012.

The CLC is expected to us a complete new platform and will rival the likes of the Audi A5 Sportback and the up and coming BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo model.

A series of direct injected gasoline four bangers are planned to be the engines of choice for the new CLC and power will be delivered to either the front wheels or all four.

No other details have been announced, so as usual, we could expect more to pop up as time goes by.
