Ferrari 458 Italia Spider coming to Frankfurt in Sept., 458 Scuderia coming in 2013

Ferrari 458 Spider

After all the waiting, Ferrari will finally show us the drop-top version of the Ferrari 458 Italia at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. That’s right Ferrari fans, the retractable hard-top 458 Italia Spider wil be shown to us next month… but that’s not all.

Ferrar is also working on a sportier version known as the 458 Scuderia. No details on what type of performance upgrades we’ll see but expect the 458 Italia Scuderia to shed some pounds.

Sales of the Ferrari 458 Italia Spider will start in Europe in September and are scheduled for the United States during the first quarter of 2012. The 458 Italia Spider will be powered by the same 4.5 liter V8 from the coupe.

Refresher: Power for the Ferrari 458 Italia comes from a mid-rear mounted 4.5L V8 producing 570-hp at 9,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 398 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm. Mated to a dual-clutch 7-speed F1 gearbox, 0 to 62 mph comes in just 3.4 seconds with a top speed of over 202 mph.

    Oh my! this car is really beautiful! The exterior design is very elegant and sleek. I only had the opportunity to check out a Ferrari model and it is a really sexy car. The interior is also superb! Although I never got the chance to ride it while it’s in motion but I believe that it will be a really good experience!
