2011 Dodge Durango SUV is Back

Chrysler AG has just unveiled a series of new commercial TV spots for the new 2011 Dodge Durango. Several of the new spots have began airing this week with the overall theme that “the SUV is back.”

“In all of our advertising campaigns, we look for creative solutions that entertain the audience, capture the essence of each of our individual brands, and showcase our competitive advantages,” said Olivier Francois, Lead Executive for Marketing, Chrysler Group LLC. “With bold and creative treatments characteristic of the Dodge brand, the new ads prove the point that Durango can go head-to-head with the competition and always come out the winner.”

The first of the TV spots begins with the title “Long Lost Performance,” which is the first message that will help convey that Dodge is back to making a solid competitor to the SUV crowd and they have.

Refresher: Power for the 2011 Dodge Durango comes from two engine choices. Standard is Chrysler’s 290-hp 3.6L Pentastar V6 and optional is the 360-hp 5.7L HEMI V8 with fuel-saving, Multi-displacement system (MDS) 4-cylinder mode. The Pentastar V6 has a towing capacity of 6,200 pounds while the V8 can pull 7,400 pounds. Prices for the 2011 Dodge Durango start at $29,195.

    Haha even though I prefer the Explorer, these commercials are funny.

    I have owned three Explorers since 1996.  I am outraged that Ford has abandoned its truck driving Explorer owners and made the new Explorer a car.  The damn thing sits on a Taurus chassis for f___ing sake.  I will never by another Explorer.  Here I come Dodge to buy a Durango. Don’t you dare make it into a car.
