Bowler road-going SUV to cost around $250,000, up to 200 units to be made annually

We recently heard that Bowler, a rally raid off-road vehicle specialist, is planning a street-legal super-SUV. Former Land Rover Cheif Engineer Steve Haywood is now CEO of Bowler and he says that the company’s first priority right now is to work on a fourth-generation model and work on positioning it as a road-going model.

While technical specs are still being kept under the wrap, prices are expected to start at £150,000 ($246,397 USD).

Bowler currently makes 15 to 20 rally SUV a year purely for racing purposes. Haywood says that Bowler is planning to sell 150 to 200 units of road-going SUVs a year.

“We have a tremendous opportunity,” he said. “Bowler has generated huge interest in past years for a street-legal version of the competition cars. But we’ll begin work on any new model quite slowly, taking care with its positioning and specifications, keeping all the recognition devices to maintain the pedigree, and listening carefully to the customer’s requirements.”
