Honda will be unveiling a new Civic for the European market at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Developed specifically for the European market, the new Civic is said to focus on ride and handling. I wish Honda America focused on the same traits for the American spec Civic.
“Every time we visited Europe during the development of the car, we achieved significant improvements in the ride and handling, tuning the car for the local demands,” says Kazuo Sunaoshi, Development Leader for the chassis of the new Civic. “The new Civic is not just an evolution. In terms of ride quality, we have taken a major step forwards, equivalent to two generations of development.”

Other than being a completely new car, the new Civic retains the title for having the largest cabin space in the C-segment in Europe. It uses a torsion beam rear suspension while the wall thickness of the beam itself and the diameter of the sway bar have both been increased.
The 2012 European Honda Civic will reach showrooms all around Europe in early 2012.
