Lexus C300h: Lexus’ BMW X1 competitor will be a hybrid model

2011 Lexus RX Hybrid

Toyota wants to take over the world with hybrid models, something we’re pretty upset about but can’t really show since we Greenpeace may get angry at us. Either way, the Japanese automaker has plans to introduce six new hybrid models to its lineup by 2012 – apparently, one of them will be yet another Lexus hybrid model carrying the CX300h badge.

The model will a smaller luxury SUV for Lexus – think smaller than the Lexus RX. It will most likely share a platform with the Toyota RAV4, which is currently going completely electric with the RAV4 EV.

So what is the Lexus CX300h going to compete with? Think along the lines of the Audi Q3, BMW X1, and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC.

When did crossovers and SUVs start getting so small?
