So far, we’ve only seen the new and upcoming 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in a bright red color. It’s the only color that GM has shown the car in press photos and auto shows across the nation.

However, this pas weekend at the Camaro Superfest 2011 at Riverside Park, Ypsilanti, Michigan, GM brought out a white Camaro ZL1. The model displayed at the show carried an automatic transmission, which we learned about last month.

Refresher: Power for the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 comes from a LSA 6.2L supercharged V8 making 550-hp at 6,100 rpm and 550 lb-ft at 3,800 rpm. The engine is matched to a Tremec TR-6060 6-speed manual transmission with a new shorter-throw shifter that improves gear changes. It also features a dual-mode exhaust system which provides a very throaty and powerful sound. Sales begin in early 2012.
